What States offer free windshield replacement?
There are few states in the united states that waive the deductible for windshield replacements or repairs as part of comprehensive coverage. The states of Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts and South Carolina renounce the deductible and for that reason are known by some as zero deductible states in terms of windshield claims. Thus without needing to pay a deductible you may refer to this as a "free" windshield replacement.
Within these states your insurance company is required legally to fix or replace your windshield with no insurance deductible charged, as long as you've comprehensive insurance on the automobile. Florida and Massachusetts only fully protect windshields, but Kentucky and South Carolina include all glass replacement with no deductible.
Many companies give you a Full Glass or $0 Glass Deductible option that's available instead of selecting a deductible when the windshield is broken or damaged.
If the auto glass has become cracked or shattered so that it needs to be repaired or replaced than you should make a claim through the comprehensive portion of your automobile insurance policy. Even if you do not live in FL, MA, SC or KY it's possible to ask your insurer whether they can waive the deductible for a windshield claim. Some insurance companies will waive the insurance deductible for auto glass repairs or replacements when their underwriting guidelines let them do so.
